The award objectives – granted by the Centro de Estrategias y Desarrollo from the Valencia City Hall, the Colegio Oficial de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of the Valencian community, the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of UPV, the IMPIVA and the Secretaría Autonómica de Administraciones Públicas— is to distinguish and give recognition to determined professional direction, academic or innovation projects, to entrepreneurial initiative, and new communications ways.
In Tecatel´s case, the judges have considered its long career in investigation, design research and the equipment and components development, and also the new advanced telecommunication technologies, as well as its decision to bet on innovation and collaboration with educational entities, and investigation centre of the Valencian community as well as for the integration of new graduated professionals into the Telecommunication industry network.

This award is an exceptional encouragement to continue researching and putting all our effort on our own technologies, the same way we have done during our professional experience and especially for the past 10 years. When digital TV was seen as a far away future, almost 25 years ago, we, Tecatel bet on the Satellite Television and also on Digital TV, and today we are proud to bring our developed technologies from Valencia to more than 30 countries. The award ceremony has taken place, on the 20th May, at the Hemisferic of the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias in Valencia, it is one of the key event of the traditional Valencian Telecommunication Night, which has celebrated this year its twelfth edition under the name “Telecommunication: base for a productive model change”
